Call & Response: The Riverside Anthology of the African American Literary Tradition (Paperback) This book was really really good. it is choke full of works by black writers and poets that gives you a picture into the slave era that will bring tears to your eyes. It is easy to look up the authors needed since it's really a large volume . However the print is small,i would have wished for larger print and some of the authors wrote as they spoke in those days of illiteracy for slaves, but still understandable if you can pay more attention to deciphering it. The anthology gives a background information on the authors compiled before there works. Awesome book i am keeping my copy around,for it's going to take me years to go through the beautiful volume.
